This Sax Is On Fire
I built two flame-throwing gas-powered saxophones and one with sound responsive dancing LEDs for this spectacular globally touring ambient performance company.
The LED sax (which also shoots fire) was remarkably complex, requiring a mixture of digital and analogue electronics, as well as a range of skills from hand-forging custom parts, to coding in Python for the onboard Raspberry Pi.
Concept by Desmond O'Connor
With thanks to Cris Howes for the laser cutting and invaluable advice

The Pyrometer
I built this pyrotechnic prop for a magic show. It's based on an old bakelite multimeter. Three pyros and a lightbulb can be triggered independently, and the whole thing is designed to be simply and safely reset by a solo touring performer.

Yellowstone
A recreation of the iconic Dutton Ranch archway from the Paramount tv series Yellowstone.
Commissioned by Max Live Events for a corporate party at the Park Lane Hotel.

Suspiciometer
A commission from Tim Benzie for his wildly popular touring show Solve-Along-A-Murder-She-Wrote.
The prop starts life as a Fame-o-Meter, where the show's guest stars are ranked in order of fame, then later becomes a Suspiciometer as the audience, with Tim's help, try to figure out whodunnit. The design brief was to create something fun, camp and chintzy, whilst staying true to the roots of the original touring prop - Tim's own collapsible drying rack.

Tempo - Escape Rooms
Converted Bath's old Temperance Hall into two escape rooms. I took this project from the back-of-a-fag-packet stage to complete realisation of stage one (a fully finished, open business with one escape room) and about 50% of the way through stage two (a second, larger room) before the project was unfortunately put on ice.
